My wife and I have fostered with SHSR for over 10 years. We have seen leadership change hands, the loss of their 501c status, loss of insurance, embezzlement by their treasurer of around fourty thousand dollars, numerous volunteers leaving, and overall downhill decline of this "rescue". They've forgotten dogs that fosters have had and do not have the best interest of the dogs at heart. Our current foster we have had for over 8 months and have nursed back to health after we rescued him (not SGSR) from an abusive home. We notified the rescue that we wanted to adopt him and we're told there's an app submitted. With more drama behind the scenes he is being torn from a happy home. This rescue should be avoided and as someone who has been with this organization for years, I know what goes on.
