In January 2013, as the temps were dropping, our neighbor moved & left his cat (Moe) behind with people that didn't want a cat. So, those jerks put Moe outside without shelter. We set up a shelter for Moe on our porch, where we fed him & gave him a safe place to rest. We searched for someone that could take him him, as we already had 2 other cats & really didn't have plans to take in a 3rd. As the temps started to drop below zero, we knew that we had to bring him into the house. We took him to the vet hospital, to get checked out. This is where we met Gina, who told us all about 4 Paws 1 Heart & how they help out with medical expenses for abandoned, abused or stray animals. She was able to get us hooked up with all the tests & vaccines that he needed, which made our decision to keep him a little easier. Since our first experience w/ 4 Paws 1 Heart way back then, we've done what we can to support them, when we're able. They have an awesome annual bowling fundraiser & do some other stuff throughout the year to raise funds. I believe what they do is so very important, in helping animals that may not have had a chance otherwise. We only got to be Moe's humans for 4 short years, but I believe that those are 4 years more than he would have had, if he'd been left alone on the streets.
