My first experience with DRBC was when my husband and I were looking to add a dachshund to our family after losing our Tikvah to cancer. We went and did the meet and greet took Sophie for a walk and immediately fell in love. Sophie became my husband‘s best nurse through his battle with cancer and heart disease. After we lost my husband Sophie start experiencing some cardiac issues and her back issues. I called Doxie Rescue Of Bucks County for advice and guidance. They saved her life. Cindie told me she would come back from the paralysis and we continued laser treatments weekly and so at 16 1/2 she ran around like a pup. Then tragedy struck, and Sophie obstructed while being a typical Doxie and getting into something she shouldn’t and went into pancreatitis. Once again, Doxie Rescue Of Bucks County came to my aid and drove me to the best medical facility. She was scheduled for surgery, but the pancreatitis ruled it out. Cindie drove me back an hour away, so I could be with her when it was her time to cross the bridge.. They were there for me so many times and when they called me for a favor as they had an older Doxy, who was desperate for a warm place to stay, I said I’m on my way. So Iris has joined my maltipoo Sarah and I and is probably a foster fail.
