I have had the pleasure of working with UCP since 2006, when the organization I led partnered with them to fund and build a large community special needs accessible playground. We constructed the largest community playground in our region, which has been used by tens of thousands of community members, including thousands from the special needs community.

Since then, I have supported and volunteered for this highly respected organization. I have worked with three presidents of UCP as a fellow community leader and found each one to be a highly qualified person of integrity, leading UCP forward every year to improve the lives and families of those with special needs.

The current President, Janeen Latin, has worked with UCP for many years and is leading the organization to new levels of quality, making it a premier place to work and true to its purpose of serving those in central Pennsylvania with compassion and skill.

During this period, I became the grandfather of a special needs child, and it has been heartening to see how UCP reached out to and assisted my daughter and son-in-law through learning how to obtain assistance and working alongside them to better my grandson's daily life. I am personally grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to my grandchild.
