Review for Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, Wexford, PA, USA
The survival rate for sudden cardiac arrest is getting very slightly better in recent years . In reality it is quite rare to survive a full heart stop. Because of this , finding community of survivors can be difficult just simply because there is not as much notice for this population of survivors. From my own experience , it took at least 3 years before i found any community of sca survivors . In 2019 , after searching , i finally started to meet other survivors.
One of the people i met , led me to Sudden cardiac arrest foundation . This group helps to build communication among many smaller groups of survivors. As meeting point and a solid advocacy group for survivors , co survivors and researchers sudden cardiac arrest foundation has helped me find community with shared experience . Surviving cardiac arrest is both a blessing and it is a trauma too. Finding other people who can relate to this has been such a great relief for me. It was an amazing experience attend their bi-annual casa summit to meet so many survivors and professionals who are dedicated to cardiac rescue . I know this community can continue to grow. And that the sudden cardiac arrest foundation can continue to be a central and essential part to link so many survivors
