My wife and I have been hosts with Hosts for Hospitals for almost ten years. We have hosted families with babies, toddlers and teens, and adults from various parts of the US, Central America and the Caribbean. In addition to helping individuals and families during stressful times we love being ambassadors for the wonderful city of Philadelphia and its amazing medical facilities.

Sometimes we wonder who is gaining the most from our hosting. Through it we have had the opportunity to meet some amazing people from diverse backgrounds. We have met a NASA engineer, an EMT on the drag racing circuit, and a person from rural Central America who cooks food over a wood fire. The resilience of these families, their knowledge and advocacy for their medical needs is inspirational. Without Hosts for Hospitals we would not have had the privilege of meeting these people.

By sharing our home with someone in need we have gained so much.
