Review for Independent Cat Society, Westville, IN, USA
After our beloved pet rabbit, Cashmere, passed on in March 2023, the house was too quiet. We knew we wanted cats as our next pets and we knew we wanted two, adults so they would not be as rambunctious, and have company. Having seen ICS ads in the local newspaper for years, we knew we wanted to support and adopt from them. We visited twice, petting all the cats (probably 100+ cats!!) And fell in love with Checkers and Shrimp (Hera). The adoption process was easy and they even hung on to our babies for a few weeks while we finished up some other commitments. In August, we brought them home! It took some adjustments, but at the three-month mark, our Shrimp and Checkers are the best of pals (with minimal swiping! Haha) but seriously, they play and keep each other entertained for literal hours. We love are fluffy little pals and the house is quiet no more! You can tell ICS volunteers socialize their cats so well and give them so much love. Having been there to visit on catnip day, those cats are treated like royalty! I'd recommend ICS to any adopter.
