I first met Chris Nichols 8 years ago while attending a women’s empowerment retreat at a mustang sanctuary in Southern California. That experience cemented my understanding that horses are, indeed, powerful medicine and that they deserve to live their lives as well as possible. The heart and effort that Chris and Morgan have put into building and sustaining the Medicine Horse Project is more than impressive. Recently, I was fortunate enough to be able participate in the Rhythm of Nature workshop at the sanctuary. Once again, I was moved to observe Chris in her element. Her knowledge and dedication are sincere; she is a formidable motivator for both horses and people. I came away from that time with an enhanced sense of myself and my own power. She provided a safe place and held space for each of us as we spent time with the animals and leaned into the lessons. It remains my pleasure to support MHP in whatever ways I can.
