Review for Organization for Autism Research, Arlington, VA, USA
As an autistic, I’ve found the Organization for Autism Research to be an invaluable resource in my life. OAR goes beyond just talking about autism—they actively work to support and improve the lives of people like me by funding research that addresses real-world challenges and providing practical, accessible resources that feel empowering and accessible.
One of the things I appreciate most about OAR is its focus on promoting understanding and acceptance, particularly through its Kit for Kids program. I have been bringing this program into my daughter’s elementary school to help ensure future generations learn about acceptance and appreciation from a young age. It’s amazing to think that this kind of resource will shape how she and her classmates understand and engage with their autistic peers!
What makes OAR truly special is its commitment to helping autistic people succeed. Its scholarship program and mentoring for job seekers are life-changing. OAR doesn’t just offer financial support—it opens doors to opportunities, providing the resources and guidance needed to thrive in school and the workplace.
If you’re looking for an organization that truly understands and addresses the needs of the autism community, I can’t recommend OAR enough. They are making a real, lasting difference, and I’m proud to support their mission.
