I first became associated with the Youth Science Center in the 1980s when I took my 3 young sons to see a glow-in-the dark presentation in Fullerton. They were wowed with the science event and we then found out about science classes being offered in Hacienda Heights. My sons were so excited about Rocks and Minerals, Human Body and Rocket classes that I started helping in classes. Before I could blink, I was teaching in the YSC week-long summer classes. For more than 35 years, I presented the StarLab Mobile Planetarium, taught classes in all the strands of science, coordinated MiniGrants for district teachers, and served on the YSC Board. Ron and Judy Chong and Diana Padilla have coordinated hundreds of fantastic field trips, classes and outreach events. It has been a stimulating association where teachers and children receive high quality support and education. I highly recommend the Youth Science Center for any awards or donations.
