Sanctuary One is a Sanctuary that models after Sanctuaries in Europe that focus on helping animals, nature and people!!!! It is amazing. I both volunteered, and adopted from here.
On volunteering: this was a well structured volunteer program. I have volunteered in 2 other non profits in the past, but this was the first to have both an orientation AND TRAINING! Head and shoulders above your normal non profit volunteer experience. Janelle really cares about her volunteers!!
On adoption: of course I had first hand look at how the animals were treated. Clean dry stalls, quality feed, and ALL the volunteers were kind and loving to the animals. Animals are quarantined 2 weeks before joining the other animals, and had to have up to date vaccinations, parasite control etc. before they were considered adoptable. Coleen runs a really tight ship with the animal care. This is a GOOD PLACE to adopt from. I can't describe how happy I am that I came here. I love my goats, all 5 of them!!!! Thank you Colleen, Janelle, Jacob, Gracie and Coby!
