Not only does CWDF help assist police departments with helping police departments obtain police dogs, CWDF also helps find and orchestrate the provision and training of service dogs to residents suffering from a disability that might otherwise be unable to afford one. But the best arm of CWDF are their Canine Ambassadors. This is a group of 30+ therapy dog teams that make multiple visits a week to schools, hospitals, assisted living facilities and anywhere else they are needed, providing comfort and care to South Shore residents. CWDF also has an elite subset of the Canine Ambassadors knows as the Canine Trauma Response Team that is specially trained to spend time with those touched by tragedy or dealing with trauma. Most recently, CWDF collected donations for Hurricane Helene victims and the organization’s president traveled to NC to deliver needed supplies to animal shelters across NC. All in all, CWDF an amazing organization that deserves recognition!!!
