My wife and I started volunteering at the Goathouse about a year ago and the more time I spend there, the more I love this place. It's one thing to be a no kill shelter but it's an entirely different thing to be a place for animals to spend their entire lives happy and healthy if they don't end up finding their forever home which sadly not every cat does. Everyone involved in keeping the Goathouse running truly loves and cares for the animals there and work tirelessly to keep the place running despite recent financial issues. They really do the best with what they have there and I'm grateful to be a part of it. Honestly I've never been huge on volunteering for nonprofits but the Goathouse Refuge is something special in my opinion. The enthusiasm everyone brings is infectious.
