In elementary school, I was known as the boy whose mother died. Most of us don’t like to talk about death. It is even harder to talk about the death of someone you really love – who you feel you couldn’t live without. I became connected to the Children’s Room (as a board member and later as a donor) so that others suffering from the death of a loved one will be surrounded by people who understand, people who support and embrace them, and people who can help them find their own grieving process – not to forget – but to become stronger and more resilient, to live again fully, so that they will not feel alone.
