Review for 4 Paws 1 Heart, Saint Clair Shores, MI, USA
In July I found a kitten crawling across my lawn. He couldn't walk. I posted on Facebook that I needed help with finding out what was wrong with him, and I didn't have the funds to pay for his medical bills. I first took him to a er vet to diagnose him. They said he has neurological problems and possibly has Toxoplasmosis. I posted again on fb looking for a rescue to help pay for his medical bills and help with his treatment.
4 paws 1 heart stepped up to help. Gina who's a Veterinary Technician and works for 4 paws 1 heart, got ahold of me and asked what was going on with the kitten. I told her what was going on, so she made an apt for me where she works. The kitten could not walk and needed his bladder expressed 4 times a day. He was diagnosed with toxoplasmosis, which caused all his neurological problems. He was then put on a strong antibiotic. He was on that for about 2 months. He couldn't be around other cats, because it's contagious. So he had to stay in a crate for 2 months. He became better after about 2 months.
Then he started to develop a limp on his right front leg. They did xrays to see what was going on. In about a week his leg started swelling and developed into a abscess. They cleaned up the abscess. It healed up. Then he couldn't extend his leg straight out to walk, or put it down. All this time he is still in his crate. They took sum more xrays. They found that he had a infection in his bone and it was getting eaten away. So now he needed his right front leg amputated because of the bone infection. They amputated his leg. He got his sutures out in September. He is now running around living his best life.
He hasn't stopped playing with his little sister. No more crate for Asher.
Without 4 paws 1 heart rescue this kitten would not have gotten the medical help he so needed. Thank you Gina and 4 paws 1 heart rescue your the greatest. Thank you so much.
