I had been wanting to visit ever since I learned of their existence and finally got to last weekend. It was everything I had hoped it would be. You can tell a lot about a place by how employees and volunteers behave. They were all clearly happy to be a part of what's happening there. All the volunteers on the raised walkway were bubbling over with enthusiasm. You could tell they felt privileged to be a part of it all. I was so happy being able to observe the animals from above knowing I was not disturbing them. They were beautiful and content with comfortable habitats. I will visit again when I'm in the area. It's the kind of place you can never get enough of and feel pleased to be able to support and donate to. (As a side note: the salad bar was the best I've eaten at in years both in freshness and variety.)
