After a very impactful loss of my 14 year old chihuahua, HVHS became a place of healing for me. I spent a lot of time with the animals and talking with workers and volunteers. They were all so kind and caring, it really made a difference. After a month or so, I found a cat I really connected to, and I decided to open my heart and home again. Throughout the entire adoption process, I felt supported, encouraged, and grateful for each staff member I interacted with. While I don’t come as often right now, there is nowhere else in this area I would trust more than HVHS. Penelope (formerly Paz) has offered so much healing and love during this period of grief, and I couldn’t love her more. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
