Review for Equus Survival Trust, Lowgap, NC, USA
The Equus Survival Trust has been a huge help in getting information on endangered horse breeds for the Equine Legacy Conservation project. We have received their assistance for multiple of the breeds we cover in our project, including the Fell Pony, the Mountain Pleasure horse and the Puerto Rican Paso Fino. It's been a joy to work with the Equus Survival Trust. Specifically with the executive director Victoria Tollman, who has personally supported us by providing data, genetic and historical insights, all very valuable to our project. We had the pleasure to interview her for our documentary series and podcast as well.
The internet is not always a trustworthy source of information, so it's a great thing to have an organization as dedicated as the Equus Survival Trust that stands for transparency and accurate information. Their pursuit to protect the traditional traits and genetic diversity and purity of historical equine breeds threatened with extinction is both admirable ánd much needed in todays world, where 33% of horse breeds are endangered.
