The Second Opinion was an incredibly valuable resource for our family during my mom's cancer journey. My mom was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer this year, and a friend who is a breast cancer survivor recommended we reach out to The Second Opinion. The Second Opinion Team was so responsive, caring and incredibly helpful. A gynecologic-oncologist from the Second Opinion team graciously answered our initial questions via email early in the treatment process, and later sat down with us virtually for over an hour at a truly crucial juncture in the treatment journey prior to surgery. He provided so much valuable information and insight into my mom's diagnosis and treatment plan, provided a detailed overview of the various surgical approach options, gave an expert second opinion on the plan proposed by her own surgeon and medical oncologist, and high-level thoughts on likely maintenance therapies following surgery. Throughout the experience, the Second Opinion team treated my mom and our family with such incredible care and empathy, and our conversations with them provided so much clarity and comfort during a very difficult time. This is an amazing non-profit, led by an incredible team, and we are so grateful to have had this resource available to us.
