Our experience with PAALS began when my son was in physical therapy. He worked with therapist Bethany C. and her facility dog Chiver. My son always looked forward to our weekly visits with them, and I became intrigued to learn more about PAALS after seeing Chiver in action. I soon learned that PAALS offered a “Pup with a Purpose” program where dogs that are released from the PAALS service dog training program are available for adoption. We decided to open our hearts and our home and apply for a dog. After waiting a little over a year, we were matched with our sweet pup Amelia. She has been such a blessing to our family and everyone she meets. PAALS is a wonderful organization helping people in need. We donate annually to this organization because I know first hand how these dogs impact people’s lives, whether as a service dog, facility dog, or a family pet.
