I met Jen Rogers not long after she started PAALS. Her new program really impressed me because she had succeeded in putting together two of my passions: helping individuals with disabilities and dogs. I was teaching special ed and had her bring PAALS dogs to visit my classes at two different schools over the years. Ten years later, when I retired from teaching, I was fortunate to re-connect with Jen and PAALS. After learning more about the application and placement process for clients, the volunteers, fosters and pupsitters, I was even more impressed with what PAALS contributes to the lives of individuals and our community. A large percentage of volunteers have remained with PAALS since the beginning. This speak volumes.

I've worked with PAALS for 6 years now. Every day I learn something new about the human spirit and the human animal bond. Working with people who share my respect for individuals of all species, collaborating with individuals, like our clients, who blaze their own trails with creativity, strength, determination, and humor gives me fulfillment and gratitude for the opportunities to interact with so many amazing people and dogs. When the news gets you down, come to PAALS. It will renew your faith in human and animal kind.
