Hi, my name is Haridev Ponswaminathan. As an 8th grader, I recently participated in the African Library Project. The entire process was smooth: we gathered the books and then shipped them to African countries. That’s it! Anyway, I loved this experience. Being an avid reader, I could relate to the cause, so when I heard about this project, I immediately signed up and started collecting books.

It was truly an eye-opening experience to collect books from friends and family and donate them. From this I learned how to organize events like this. Our group consisted of 11 people, and each of us collected 100 books to donate. We then met up to start packing the books. First, we categorized them and prepared the shipping boxes. After hours of hard work, we packed all the books into 10 sturdy boxes. We went home feeling a great sense of pride.

In conclusion, participating in the African Library Project was an amazing experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely be doing it again next year!
