Volunteering at the Elephant Sanctuary in Holenwald, TN was such a rare opportunity! The staff was extremely informative, sharing stories, facts and background on the elephants as you went thru the day assisting. I have been donating to this organization for many years, followed the emails and also watching the elephants on videocam when available. The heartbreaking story many of these elephants endured thru the years is just indescribable for such an emotional and intelligent animal. Being on the grounds, seeing their world and feeling a sense of purpose to support their needs brought new awareness to my soul.
