Review for Children's Cancer Connection, Johnston, IA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been volunteering for The Heart Connection for about 3 months and have absolutely loved my there. They provide awesome support for children with cancer and their families and they really are there to assist in every way. During camp, I could see how much it really meant to the kids and the great time they have with others. Camp is where the kids can be themselves and where they can be comfortable around others. The Heart Connection has an awesome network of volunteers that are always willing to help out at programs and especially during camp. The staff of the organization are great, always having new ideas and are never afraid to take on a new challenge. I will definitely continue my attention and time to this organization in the future!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

families, the community and most importantly the children.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

open another location somewhere else in the U.S.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

CAMP!!!!!! One of the best experiences in my life.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

college students, young professionals, business professionals and people that just wanted to help in any way they could.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand, open new locations so more people could be aware of it!

Ways to make it better...

I could have spent more time with the organization.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

some people that need an organization like this are unaware that it is available for them.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I have absolutely loved my time volunteering for here!

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Volunteer & I volunteered in the office and was on programming staff for camp.
