I have been volunteering for Help At Your Door since my retirement in 2019. Over the past 5 years, I have primarily been a driver for them, using my personal car to take people, mostly elderly, who need rides to medical appointments, on shopping trips, and to social activities. During the pandemic, I also grocery-shopped for HAYD each week. and delivered some groceries.

HAYD is a fine organization for which to volunteer. I like the ability to set my own very flexible schedule and chose what rides to give. The folks who I am helping are genuinely in need and truly grateful for the services HAYD provides. It is important to my own psychological well-being that I know I am actually helping others and HAYD allows me to do just that. My interactions with the HAYD staff have always been very positive.
