I got involved with Rikki’s Refuge Animal Sanctuary after they took in my peahen ������ (female peacock) named Blendi. I started volunteering with them after that. They take in animals that nobody else wants. They are amazing. The staff is so dedicated in providing each one of them a wonderful life and the volunteers help make that happen. The way they refer to the critters as being “differently-abled” instead of disabled is a phrase I’ll remember forever. For the ones that may have a handicap they are referred to as “differently-abled” because they just have to find a different way to do things pretty. Pretty awesome, huh? They will have my adoration and support for the rest of my life.
