I have adopted six dogs over the past 20 years from GSROC. (My current shepherd is sound asleep on the floor as I write this.) Their volunteer team is highly organized and incredibly compassionate with the German shepherds they rescue. Their staff assist with in-depth questions about potential adopters as well as information about the dog you are interested in adopting. They also help other organizations move dogs into emergency lifeboats. In my family GSROC dogs have been successful with therapy, agility, but mostly just great family dogs. And their dogs become such great ambassadors for the German Shepherd breed. GSROC is a top quality model for other breed rescues with how they organize, manage volunteers, fundraise, and effectively communicate within the rescue community and with future adopters.
