I first found out about Apopo when I was looking for a birthday present for my niece. That was 21 years ago. She is now a seasoned doctor and I have drawn the attention of adults and children, colleagues and the students I have taught, all over the World ,about the amazing and ever increasing range of work carried out by Apopo and the Herorats.

At the time, I sponsored Alan for a year and my niece received her newsletters and other information about Alan. and his activities I would love to know how many subsequent generations of working rats and pups are Alan's descendants. I may not be as active in financial support for Apopo as I would like, but I take every opportunity to spread the word about this amazing organisation, the Herorats and the dedicated staff who work as their carers and keepers. I have an ambition to visit Morogoro, and seeing Jane Goodall was there, Gombe too. Keep up the great work Apopo, keep those news letters coming so that we can all continue to spread the word.
