I've been a foster for Houston Beagle and Hound Rescue since 2021 and I can say with full confidence that they are an incredible organization run by knowledgeable, experienced volunteers. We're currently on our 21st foster dog and have adopted 1 dog from HBHR so far. My biggest fear once we began fostering was that parting with our fosters dog would be too difficult. HBHR's vetting process for potential adopters is extremely thorough. Certain individuals might find this frustrating, but it's done with the best interest of the dogs in mind. Even with the process, the return rate for the dogs is still higher than one may think. Also, the stringent vetting process allows me as a foster parent to know that the foster dog that I've loved and cared for is going to an amazing, capable home. Personally, I have no qualms about donating my time or money to HBHR.
