I first learned of the society at my UMC annual conference and was fascinated with idea of saving and using produce not bound for the retail markets. By attending a gleaning and later leading a gleaning event, I was totally hooked. The pure simplicity of the concept, the amazingly low operating expenses and the low expense of reaching out to other people keeps me as a monthly donor.
