After moving from CA to TX with a IDD adult we discovered the stark difference between a state that wants to provide support and a state that grudgingly gives support only because it has to. Our local center that manages services for the state, The Harris Center, was/is not helpful. It felt like the mission statement of The Harris Center could be "knowledge is exclusive and ignorance should be punished" . Family to Family Network helped us understand our options and what we need to do to fulfill our needs. Without F2F I believe we would still be on the hamster wheel. Thank you F2F!!!
