I was diagnosed with DCIS in May 2023. I ran the gauntlet of doctors and health professionals and luckily, surrounded myself with a wonderful medical team. They formulated the plan for my health care. With my breast surgeon's input, I decided on Diep Flap breast reconstruction. I needed more information and advice from women who'd gone down this path and a friend suggested I join an online support group. I found the DiepCFoundation facebook page. I can't fully articulate how much the members of this forum along with my health care professionals, helped calm my fears, answer my questions, and generally give me peace of mind and the tools to move forward with my decision and ultimately my treatment. The vast knowledge that Terri Coutee , the founder of the DiepC Foundation, has gathered from doctors and experts in the field from around the world is a goldmine for women who are in my situation.
