My story with this ministry began in 2008 when I met camp directors, Glen and Laura Elder. What drew me to camp was its message of fun, love, and acceptance to the special needs community, but what keeps me involved is the camp culture created by the leadership team that truly changes the lives of all involved. I co-lead a team of volunteers from Tennessee to serve a term each summer, and during the remainder of the year, we pray, fundraise, and spread the love for Beloved and Beyond. As an adult leader, watching teens serve selflessly is an amazing opportunity, but equally important is witnessing the transformation of teens and young adults as they grow in God’s love. I encourage anyone who is considering a ministry/mission service opportunity to become a part of the camp experience at Beloved and Beyond. Camp changes lives - mine included!
