Review for Luena Foundation, Walnut Creek, CA, USA
My name is EBONG JARVIS AKANG, Founder and Project Coordinator for Initiatives for Sustainable Development (ISUDEV), located in South Western Cameroon. We have worked with the Luena Foundation for over two years and our partnership has been wonderful. Luena Foundation in the continuation of legacy of love has passed through ISUDEV in reaching out to over 673 poor and needy children, disadvantaged youths and vulnerable women within our communities. Through our partnership, Luena Foundation has helped in giving hope and a bright future to so many needy and street children in our community by providing them access to quality education through scholarship schemes and the provision of classroom furniture for schools in very remote communities. The foundation has also helped us to enhance food security, nutrition and improve health conditions in communities severely affected by the ongoing armed conflicts in the region. Due to our partnership with Luena Foundation, our organization has been able to engage in a continuous fight against period among adolescent girls from resource-poor communities. Through their funding supports, we have been able to spread comprehensive menstrual hygiene education and donate reusable and environmentally-friendly sanitary products such as reusable pads to over 2500 vulnerable young girls. The foundation has been of great help in fostering our mission of building a barrier-free world. Their support to us and other local organizations cannot be over emphasized. We are very fortunate to be working together with Luena Foundation.
