Roots and Wings Project UpLift was a recipient of a $100,000 grant awarded by
our philanthropic organization, Impact 100 Palm Beach County. Receiving an Impact
100 grant is a highly competitive and selective process. Applicants must provide an
innovative, precise and organized plan outlining exactly how our funding will be used.
Our award winners must also demonstrate the ability to provide measurable results
that have a powerful positive impact on the community or individuals it serves.
Our experience in working with Roots and Wings for over three years was
positive and rewarding. Founder Ted Hoskinson was a diligent, caring, and
conscientious communicator. We were kept abreast of any challenges that arose and
were provided solutions for solving them. Ted and his team went above and beyond
our extensive reporting requirements and often sent updates, even though they
weren’t required by our agreement. In addition, Ted’s breadth of knowledge of the
education system as a former educator and his special ability to attract other
supporters was instrumental to the success of the program.
The results from Project UpLift were exceptional, with most participating students
outperforming their less challenged peers by the end of the school year. This is
exactly the kind of high impact results our organization strives for and cherishes, and
we couldn’t be more pleased. We strongly endorse Roots and Wings in all their philanthropic endeavors.
