During my summer holidays, I volunteered at the Udayan Care Home, where I interacted with and tutored 6-7 girls who were either orphans or from families that could not afford to keep them. It was an eye-opening experience. I was saddened to learn about their past lives, but I was also happy to see how the organization has taken care of their day-to-day needs. It was heartening to see that they have a suggestion/feedback box that can be filled out only by the students living there, and it is kept anonymous. This ensures that the girls' voices are heard and their privacy is respected.

Udayan Care is a transparent NGO with helpful and patient staff and counselors who are dedicated to the well-being of the girls. We shared moments of laughter and fun through various engaging activities such as making origami art, doodling, and role-playing.

I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity, which allowed me to bring smiles to their faces and add value to their learning. At the end of my project, the girls eagerly awaited my next visit, and I left feeling fulfilled and thankful.
