The Westchester-Putnam VITA Program thanks Volunteer New York for all of your many years of assistance with promoting and advertising our volunteer recruitment needs. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals. The VITA/TCE sites are operated by IRS partners and staffed by volunteers who want to make a difference in their communities. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with non-profit organizations that receive grants from the IRS. The Westchester-Putnam VITA Program has been in operation for 20 years and it is through the combined efforts of Volunteer New York and other dedicated partners in service to the community that we are able to recruit dedicated volunteers each year.
