Island Dolphin Care has one of the most unique and intentional missions of any other dolphin facility. Our sweet dolphins are specifically trained to assist and provide therapy to children and adults with special needs and veterans with PTSD. As a volunteer of 10 months and now a current Animal Care Intern here at IDC, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to be apart of the journeys of our clients as they progress through their therapy programs. The smiles I see every day and the milestones reached and celebrated are what make IDC and our dolphins so special!
