My name is Susan McClain and my son and I have been volunteering with ATOU for over a year now. My son is 23 and diagnosed Autistic/Deaf/Non-Verbal/OCD/ARFID. After he aged out of the school district at 22, we were looking for an organization that he could volunteer with. I had already been volunteering at ATOU so I asked if he could help and he was embraced with open arms. Everyone that volunteers with the organization is so positive, kind and shares a passion in creating an inclusive community. What I enjoy most about volunteering with ATOU is teaching about the importance of empathy and knowing we are making a positive impact in the lives of others. When the children and adults meet Kyle at the workshops they see he is more than just his disability. They meet a young man who can do the same things they can do but just needs a little help along the way. ATOU is truly an inspiring organization!
