The veteran community in medical school is vastly underrepresented. SOFtoSOM has taken the initiative in transitioning high caliber veterans into these programs. The future of healthcare in this country needs people who thrive in stressful operational environments, are collaborative, and motivated to serve their communities. SOFtoSOM is helping to facilitate that through their exceptional mentorship, funding, and community network. Overall, a great organizational mission that will create lasting impacts into the future.

51 Vets has given me exposure to a network that many prior enlisted servicemembers need to be included in. There are a lot of resources and discussions that are facilitated, and I value the individuals in this organization as we can to support one another through various endeavors. The nonprofit spans multiple cities across the country which really enables the reach to be impactful and the individuals are eager to give back. I am grateful to be a part of this organization and excited to support future SOF personnel as they transition from services to business.
