i volunteered with ARL Boston shelter in 2021-2022, my very first shift was a transport of dogs coming flying into Bedford Airport from New Mexico, my leg of the transport was driving 3 of those dogs to Plymouth. I fell in love with one of them, a 5 mo. border collie mix named 'Chucky' (which we changed to Rocco) and immediately applied to adopt. Rocco and his sister Miley are both rescue dogs and we cannot picture life without either of them, we love them so much. Rocco is a literal beam of sunshine, the most joyful guy. My time volunteering was also great, I had to tell myself weekly that I was not allowed to bring home any more animals. I only stopped volunteering because I got pregnant and moved to Milton BUT I am itching to get back because it was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.
