My father, Col. (RET) Ralph Puckett, was a Medal of Honor recipient for his actions in Korea. He passed away on April 8, 2024 at 97. I of course wanted to attend his memorial service at the National Infantry Museum in GA on April 20, but as I live in New York City and am recovering from a stem cell transplant, I am extremely immunocompromised and therefore prohibited from using public transportation. My doctor did not want me to travel by car either. Only the service of Veteran’s Airlift and the incredible generosity of pilots Scott Martin and Dave Wood made it possible for me to attend. I am forever grateful.
