Review for Educational Pathways International, Incline Village, NV, USA
I am Bright Ohene Aidoo, a fourth-year Doctor of Pharmacy student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. I am deeply grateful for the Educational Pathways International (EPI) Scholarship, which has empowered me to chase my dreams in Pharmacy.
My journey began amidst adversity, weighed down by the burden of financial struggles. However, I refused to let circumstances define my future. I took a proactive approach, working as a tutor for a year and a half to build savings and create opportunities for myself. Although I faced a financial crisis that threatened to derail my university education, I remained steadfast in my commitment to my goals. This experience ultimately made me stronger and more resilient, preparing me for future challenges.
The loss of my elderly sister to breast cancer was a difficult experience, but it also sparked a sense of purpose within me. Her passing fuelled my passion for pharmacy and motivated me to work towards making a difference in the lives of others.
The EPI scholarship arrived just in the nick of time, breathing new life into my aspirations and affirming that 'when you're down to nothing, God is up to something'. It enabled me to focus on my studies without financial worries. The scholarship has also provided me with invaluable experiences, including leadership skills, socialization, and confidence-building through mentorship programs.
As a student pharmacist, I am driven by a passion for research and discovery, with a goal to become a Pharmaceutical Scientist specializing in Industrial Pharmacy. I am committed to leveraging my expertise to develop life-saving medicines that make a positive impact on my community. Through innovative research and collaboration, I aim to tackle pressing health challenges and improve patient outcomes. Ultimately, I aspire to leave a legacy in the field of pharmacy, driven by my passion for science, research, and community service.
I am passionate about giving back to my community and nation, particularly by supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds. I aim to provide them with equal access to quality education, mentorship, and resources, empowering them to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.
I am forever grateful to Educational Pathways International (EPI) for their unwavering support and belief in me. The scholarship has been a game-changer, enabling me to pursue my academic dreams without the burden of finance. Beyond the financial support, EPI's mentorship programs and leadership development opportunities have helped me grow both personally and professionally. I am deeply thankful for EPI's investment in my present and future life. And I am committed to paying it forward by making a positive impact in my community and beyond. Long live EPI!
Thank you.

My name is Bright Ohene Aidoo. I am a third year Doctor of Pharmacy student in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. Coming from a low income family, I personally deem it a privilege to be in this institution, building my career as a Pharmacist. I can never talk about this blessing without acknowledging the love and support from Educational Pathways International (EPI) Scholarship.
When I completed high school, wanting to become a Pharmacist was just a dream. I worked hard and achieved excellence in my academics but, university education is hard due to the financial background of my family. After obtaining my high school certificate, I took a year and half to work as a tutor and build some savings. Fortunately for me, I got a starter push into the university but that worsened the financial crisis to an extent that I nearly had to drop out of school.
Just when there was no hope for me, EPI gave me hope in my university education. Becoming a beneficiary of EPI was a dream come true. Words cannot explain what this privilege means to me and how it inspires me to do better. The difference this scholarship makes in my life is huge. I am able to dedicate more time to my education without any financial problems. Aside worrying less about money, EPI provides me with some invaluable experiences including leadership skills, socialization, confidence and other soft skills through regularly organized mentorship programs. Knowing EPI believes in my dream and has got my back, always is the greatest motivation I have ever had.
As a student Pharmacist, I am passionate about research works and discoveries. Pharmacy has just given me a million opportunities to explore more into nature, biological and chemical process and to become a producer of medicines in future. The industrial Pharmacy is where my interest lies. Though I dedicate ample time to all fields of Pharmacy, it is my dream to become a Pharmaceutical Scientist.
A deadly disease that took my elderly sister away when I was young was what initiated my decision of becoming a Pharmacist. Yes, she was terminally ill but overhearing the Doctors saying there was no cure for her broke me. I wondered why there was no cure for breast cancer and at that moment I wished I could save her. Since then, I have been desperate about everything concerning medicines and therapy. Now that I am in this journey, I strongly believe I can save others with my contribution in future. Of course, Pharmacists are the friends of the human race.
Being a beneficiary of this scholarship is a privilege that I hope I will be able to give back to society one day. I am very passionate about helping others and it saddens me to see people who are in need without a helper. In my community and church, I take up roles and responsibilities that enable me to serve my people with my time, energy and resources as the Bible says: “it is more blessed to give than to receive”. In future, I will continue to extend my helping hands to my family, friends, neighbours and my country at large. One of my heart desires is to remove the educational barriers for students who are in need.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to EPI for the abundant love and support. Without EPI my life as university student would not be this easy. Your kindness and generosity have been an inspiration and it keeps me going. Thank you for believing in my dream and making a positive impact in my live. Long live EPI! Thank you.
