Review for Educational Pathways International, Incline Village, NV, USA
My name is Bismark Issifu, a fourth year Doctor of Pharmacy student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana.
As a beneficiary of the Educational Pathways International (EPI) Scholarship. I am glad to share the profound impact it has had on my life and academic journey. This scholarship programme does not only offer financial support but also its holistic approach to fostering growth, empowerment, and community engagement.
I was awarded the scholarship during the 2021/2022 academic year and right from there, I felt a sense of belonging and support that transcended mere financial assistance. The team behind Educational Pathways International took a genuine interest in my aspirations, providing mentorship, guidance, and resources to help me navigate the complexities of higher education. There was an adversity that faced my family in the same academic year I was awarded the scholarship. I was emotionally disturbed and that affected my academic performance badly. The program manager arranged for counselling and advised me to be part of peer tuition and this support system has made me to overcome my difficulties and I am improving on my academics.
The EPI scholarship also emphasis on community service and leadership development. Through various volunteer opportunities, soft skills seminars and leadership workshops, I was able to cultivate essential skills and values that extend far beyond the classroom. Educational Pathways International empowered me to become an active agent of change in my community, instilling in me a sense of responsibility and purpose.
Quality, efficient and effective pharmaceutical services still remain under-developed in Ghana especially in rural areas like my district, Zebilla with a population of 144,000 people (according to 2021 population and housing census, Ghana). I chose Doctor of Pharmacy program because of my passion to see people get relieved of their disease and symptoms using medications and for the inaccessibility of quality, efficient and effective pharmaceutical services in the rural areas in Ghana. Even though, my community need my services, I am prepared to serve any rural area in Ghana where my services are needed the most after my graduation.
Beyond the tangible benefits, the Educational Pathways International Scholarship has been a catalyst for personal growth and self-discovery. It has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, embrace challenges, and strive for excellence in all endeavours. The sense of empowerment and confidence instilled in me by this scholarship is invaluable and will undoubtedly shape my future endeavours.
In conclusion, the Educational Pathways International Scholarship has been nothing short of transformative. It has provided me with the resources, support, and inspiration to pursue my dreams and make a positive impact in the society. I am immensely grateful for the opportunities it has afforded me and would wholeheartedly recommend it to aspiring students seeking not only financial assistance but also mentorship, community, and personal growth.
