Review for Educational Pathways International, Incline Village, NV, USA
Educational Pathways International (EPI) has brought light into my life by impacting my academics in numerous ways. My name is Janice Osenkor Anum. I am currently in my final year reading BSc. Biochemistry at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. One of the emphasis Educational Pathways International lays is, helping the gifted but needy student. This is exactly what I have experienced since I had the opportunity to be part of this noble program. The financial burden that comes with being in the university has been waved off, allowing me room to fully concentrate on my studies and make it possible to acquire the necessary knowledge I need for the field of work after school. In addition to this, I have been greatly challenged by the program, helping me realize my potential. Potentials in my grades, also in other fields such as public speaking and entrepreneurship. This is possible through many seminars organized by our Director to train all who are in the program. My dream was to become a medical doctor. After studying science in high school and upon my application to the university, I had the opportunity rather to pursue a four-year degree in Biochemistry. Though it looks like my dream of becoming a medical doctor won’t be realized, I dreamt of another in the biochemistry field. With all the beautiful innovations and inventions happening in the field of molecular biology, I am spurred to go in that direction. The recent one is the use of induced pluripotent stem cells and clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats (CRISPR)-Cas technologies in the development of targeted molecular therapy for sickle cell disease. With the knowledge I will acquire after my studies, I intend to specialize in molecular biology and help in the development of treatment methods to provide relief to those embattled with genetic diseases. I want to use this medium to express my profound gratitude to Educational Pathways International and hope that their borders will be extended to accommodate more gifted students who may be financially challenged.
