Review for Educational Pathways International, Incline Village, NV, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I am Kwadwo Danso Ampomah, a third year medical student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. I was privileged to be awarded Educational Pathways International (EPI) scholarship in 2021/2022 academic year.

Educational Pathways International (EPI) scholarship has been a stepping stone to achieving my dream as a doctor who would give back to the underserved people in this country, not limited to the people in my beloved hometown, Sefwi Asafo. When I received admission to pursue Medicine in this university, it was a mixed feeling in my house because in as much as my family and I were happy, how we were going to fund this medical education was unclear, after moving from one family member to another, my parent gathered some money to secure my admission by way of paying the admission fee. Considering the cost of living in a city like Kumasi, we were still in doubt I was going to have a smooth medical education, but there came EPI, after a strict scrutiny, I was offered a full-time educational scholarship covering my academic and residential fees and even other educational expenses. This has brought a relief to my family and to my own self, now I do not think about the source of fund for my medical education because EPI takes care of that.

Since I received the scholarship in April 2022, I have always had peace of mind which I believe is a contributing factor to my academic success. Although medical school is challenging and difficult to ace, I have been able to constantly produce good academic results and I am also confident that going forward I would be able to do more because all I need now is time to study. Also, every EPI scholarship beneficiary is expected to do well academically, that is a clause attached to the scholarship and because I know that without this scholarship completing my medical training will be difficult, I always do my best to deliver the best results possible to keep me on this scholarship.

EPI scholarship does not only focus on academic excellence but a holistic training for its beneficiaries. From time to time, we receive training on some interesting soft skills topics, these topics have helped me very well, these are things I must know and apply would never be taught in the classroom. With this I say, I am very grateful, EPI.

As a Doctor I would like to contribute my quota towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3(SDG3), which seeks “To ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”, and this is why I am very grateful to EPI for granting me this scholarship for this dream to be realized. I do not take this scholarship lightly at all, if I had not gotten it I wouldn’t have been where I am today so once again I say thank you, EPI.
