As a representative of the School of Dental Medicine on the Anschutz campus, we've always been dedicated to not only providing top-notch education but also fostering an environment of care and support for our students, faculty, and staff. However, it wasn't until we forged a partnership with Denver Pet Partners that we truly understood the transformative power that therapy dogs could bring to our community.

Denver Pet Partners is a remarkable organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals through the human-animal bond. The presence of therapy dogs has become an integral part of the fabric of our institution. These gentle and loving animals & volunteers have brought joy, relaxation, and emotional support to our whole community.

First, Denver Pet Partners has made a remarkable difference in our students. Dental school can be a daunting experience for many, as they navigate challenging procedures and high patient expectations. However, the introduction of therapy dogs into our clinic waiting area has transformed the atmosphere entirely. Students waiting for their patients or taking breaks now have the opportunity to interact with these dogs, easing their stress and promoting a sense of calmness and well-being. The presence of therapy dogs has also positively influenced patient experiences. Many patients arrive at the dental clinic feeling anxious or fearful, but the comforting presence of a therapy dog helps alleviate their apprehensions.
