Upon first entering this place I found their director to be a little self-righteous and stuck-up even though everyone had good things to say about her. I later found out that my perception of her would be wrong. I looked at her and other volunteers there in a different light because they treated me different than other places. Other places I had to work at to get my benefits would often cast me aside. I always felt unwanted, and the people at the center always paid attention to me, asked for my opinion, and actually gave me work to do. It drove me crazy, but it was exactly the experience I needed. I'm sharing my review because I'm currently finishing my bachelor's degree and while I have not kept in touch with the center, I want to share they helped me in a way I didn't think was possible. They saw me and my potential and I wouldn't be graduating this year if it wasn't for them. I hope to go back one day, but I want to tell everyone that walks through their doors, they aren't stuck-up or self-righteous, they are people that care and will take whatever time is needed to work with you if you're willing to work with them. I was SEEN by this wonderful organization.
