We realized public school may not be a good fit for our son during his elementary years, but as two working parents we were unsure we could homeschool him successfully. During Covid, we made an attempt, but found it very difficult to navigate on our own. After Covid, our son started middle school however, his mental health suffered as a result and we withdrew him shortly thereafter. We were lucky to have a good support system in both schools, however our son needed one on one support, which they were unable to provide full time. We were overwhelmed as we searched for homeschool support but are so grateful to have found Pathways and The Haven! Ms Danae helped get our son started with curriculum on Google classroom which allowed us to get comfortable with our new roles as homeschool parents and establish new routines at home. Our son enjoys going to the Haven and is getting the one on one support he needs. He’s making progress in his studies as well as making new friends.
