Tshepang Educare Trust is based in Bethlehem -Eastern Free State. It is serving 12 communities through integrated programmes like Mobile ECD Playgroups and Family Community Motivator Playgroups. We provide ECD Programmes to almost 186 vulnerable children who live in farms and informal settlements in geographical area of Bethlehem. Every year before we start with playgroups, we do wellbeing assessments of learners to check their weight and their physical development in order to check whether they are developing according to their milestones. In 2022, the outcome was that 39 learners were found malnourished, but after using Lunchbox porridge, the number decreased to 9, we continued feeding the learners, in 2023, when the learners were measured again, they all showed that they are no longer malnourished but growing well. Because of Lunchbox now learners are participating in physical activities, they are able to concentrate during indoor activities, their cognitive skills have improved a lot and even those who went to schools, we are also keep tracking their performance and they are doing very well. The support of caregivers in playgroups has also increased. Through Lunchbox porridge, we were able to do 9703 feedings in 2023 to 12 communities with 186 children.
